If you require personal training, then there are Registered Corridor EZ training partners available on a fee for service basis.

Does Corridor EZ support Microsoft Surface Pro’s?

Corridor EZ works on Microsoft Surface Pro’s inside Civil 3D, however users need to be aware of the limited support for 4k monitors (see TECHNICAL FAQ regarding 4k support) and screen resolution connecting to external monitors. Careful review of the graphics performance (graphics card) is also required (see TECHNICAL FAQ regarding graphics cards)

Does Corridor EZ support 4k monitors?

Support for 4k monitors was added to Corridor EZ in the 24.1.

Does Corridor EZ support Apple?

No, Corridor EZ is a Widows only AutoCAD Civil 3D application.

Technical FAQs

Does Corridor EZ work with all graphics cards?

To get the most out of Corridor EZ we recommend a dedicated graphics card as part of the computer hardware. Model Viewer can display an error message, which is resolved by updating the graphics card on the computer with the latest driver update specific to that graphics card.

It is recommended to set the high performance graphics card to operate on all monitor/s that will be displaying Model Viewer.

Some customers have experienced issues displaying Model Viewer with standard onboard graphics cards.

Can Corridor EZ ‘read’ my already created Corridor and/or Assemblies?

Corridor EZ is built to fast track the creation of a Civil 3D Corridor, starting with Civil 3D alignment/s and surface/s.

Corridor EZ is unable to create a Template from Civil 3D assembly/ies in the drawing and does not ‘read’ corridor data into the Corridor EZ environment.

Can I use previously designed Civil 3D Profiles in Corridor EZ?

Yes you can. To do this:

  • Create a Corridor EZ Road or Profile String for the alignment. A best fit vertical grading (profile) will be assigned
  • Rename the current Civil 3D profile to Design-[Alignment Name], where [Alignment Name] is the name of the alignment that the profile is created for
  • Run the command Update from Civil 3D Profiles and the Civil 3D profile geometry will be copied to the Corridor EZ String

What is involved in matching our layer standards?

Corridor EZ creates Civil 3D objects for output: surfaces, profile views and corridors.

The Set Civil 3D Styles command can be used to manage the surface style, profile style, profile label and profile view outputs, including the layers to use in the drawing. At the time of creating a Corridor, users can set the Corridor Code Set and layer for output.

Corridor EZ also creates linework in the drawing to describe the linear features for each string, ‘quick’ surface contours and, optionally, subgrade model linework. Additionally, users can create tables in the drawing for section volume and other reports. Most of this is controlled in the Active Drawing Settings form.

With the exception of some design element display items (such as the Vertical Grading Editor tracker) users can set outputs to match their layer standards.

We have a lot of Assemblies – how are they imported into Corridor EZ?

Corridor EZ creates assemblies by using the Templates in Corridor EZ. The Corridor Exchange Settings allow you to match each Template section with Civil 3D Subassemblies, including control over the inputs of the subassemblies selected. Corridor EZ Templates simplify assemblies, by enabling the same level of control over each code and providing a simple spreadsheet-like input.

At this time there is no functionality to import Civil 3D Assemblies as Corridor EZ Templates.

Corridor EZ Templates can be saved as defaults for future projects, so users can create a library of common Templates that will apply to new projects.

We have drawings stored on a server, is this an issue with Corridor EZ?

There will be no issue – all data created by Corridor EZ is stored in the drawing file (.dwg) by default.

What document/drawing management systems does Corridor EZ support?

Any document/drawing management supported by Civil 3D. All data created by Corridor EZ is stored in the drawing file (.dwg) by default.
